Made by Ringbrothers, it’s available for purchase.
You might remember when this 1965 SPLITR Mustang made its debut at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas a few years ago. A restomod which was created to still honor the “spirit” of the ’65 Ford Mustang, this amazing car will be featured at the Riyadh Car Show. It’s also up for sale, along with several other Ringbrothers cars at the show.
If you haven’t seen a build which looks quite like SPLITR, there’s a good reason. A graphic designer originally dreamed up the car, which he then took to Ringbrothers asking if they could build this vehicle. Many of the changes to the classic muscle car are subtle, but they add up.
For example, the undertray is completely flat, thanks to rockers being extended 1.5 inches and wrapped underneath the chassis to the secondary floor pan. Other shifts in design include trimmed bottoms on the front fenders, along with rocker panels extended to the bottom of the trailing edge on the front wheel arches. Custom BASF Glasurit 90-Line Waterborne paint called “Ford Race Red”, white stripes, and a satin clear finish really make this car look great.
Just as important to this Ford is what’s under the hood. Ringbrothers managed to shoehorn a Ford Racing 427ci V8 in there. It features a custom airbox designed by the Rings, and there’s an interesting Lexan window which gives you a view down the throttle body to the MSD Atomic fuel injection system, which is definitely unique. Bolted to the engine is a Tremec T56 six-speed manual from Bowler.
With so much power added to the car, the chassis also needed some big upgrades. Among the additional equipment is a Detroit Speed Engineering AlumaFrame front suspension. The rear uses a Detroit Speed Engineering QuadraLink suspension along with custom-valve JRI coilovers.
Like other Ringbrothers builds, this Ford Mustang has plenty of custom billet accessories under the hood and in the cabin. Recaro seats, Classic Instruments gauges, and a Vintage Air Surefit system complement the motorsports-inspired layout.
Held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from November 21 through 26, the Riyadh Car Show has an impressive range of vehicles. This is one of six Ringbrothers cars which will be on display at the show, the most the Wisconsin-based builder has had at an event. All six are available to purchase, so they’re not just for looking, although you can certainly enjoy doing that.
