Few city cars have impacted the automotive world quite like The Cinquecento.” The definitive Fiat model for many, early examples are highly sought-after as collectibles. You’ll find if you scoop this restored 1964 Fiat 500 Nuova Trasformabile they’re also a blast to drive through the countryside.
This particular Fiat 500 is a top-of-the-line Trasformabile, so it comes with some nice upgrades you won’t find on other models. Since the suicide doors were removed come 1965, it also has that unique, charming quality that can be hard to track down. Also included is a full folding sunroof, so you can really let the fresh air flow through as you tool around town.
Thanks to a full restoration, this Fiat presents immaculately. Both the paint and chrome on the exterior are glass-like, reflecting even the smallest amount of light to dazzle the eyes. New Minilite-style alloy wheels and tires have been fitted to this car. Of course, the interior looks amazing as well, especially with the matching wood steering wheel and gear knob featuring Abarth badging. Red seats and door cards with white piping plus accents injects a splash of color and style everyone expects from Italian classics.
Unlike other Fiat 500s, this one is fully functional. During the restoration, front disc brakes were added with red calipers for a nice fashion statement. Also installed is a new exhaust system which features twin tailpipes and a much sportier note.
Lovingly referred to as The Cinquecento, the Fiat 500 launched in July of 1957, revolutionizing how Italians traveled. It was cheap and functional, perfect for the nation as it rebuilt from the ravages of World War II.
