A vintage Galaxie Skyliner with a perfect naturally earned patina.
While scrolling through the endless treasure trove of car listings on eBay, we stumbled across this original 1960 Ford Galaxie Starliner may stop you dead in your tracks. Its gorgeous exterior features a naturally earned patina some enthusiasts would kill for.
In good running condition, this classic still resides in the Sacramento Valley where it was purchased brand new in 1959. The last time this vintage Galaxie was registered was back in 1976, so this 60-year-old car sat for 43 years. It has a clear California title, and the original black and yellow plates that were issued with the car.
Over the years, the car was given one white repaint and a white seat cover interior kit back in the 1970s but besides that, this car is factory original. The body is in great shape and has never been disassembled. This classic even comes with the missing interior garnish moldings from the photos, and all the stainless steel and chrome on the car is in restorable condition.
Under the hood sits the original 352cui V8 that runs strong and is backed by an automatic transmission that shifts nicely. The original carburetor was rebuilt, and the motor was tuned. A few months ago, this Galaxie was given some much needed TLC to make it somewhat roadworthy. In addition, this vintage Sunliner was given a new fuel tank, fuel pump, water pump, all new hoses, brakes, radiator, shocks, belts, a dual Flowmaster exhaust, front wheel disc brake setup, and other miscellaneous odds and ends. The original drum brakes that originally came with the car are included in the sale and are in great shape.
With old cars, especially those that have been sitting for too long, often have a few issues to be aware of. On this car, a single vertical crack is on the left window, and the trunk pan has minor damage. Rust is starting on the outer skin of the right door thanks to piled dirt, but there is no damage to the bottom of the door, frame, or rockers. The windshield features a horseshoe-shaped crack, and the seats need to be recovered. Also, it is missing the headliner but all bows are present.
In the description, it also states that it needs paint. Most enthusiasts would drive this vintage Sunliner as is along with its naturally earned patina that most couldn't artificially create if they tried.
