Forget waiting for a Jeep car, this is more than enough.
Every once in a while an automaker creates a niche vehicle so awesome it can easily be appreciated by future generations without much of a stretch. This 1949 Willys Jeepster is just such a car. It has the face of a Jeep, a vehicle which helped which a war, married with the sporty qualities of a convertible GT. It just doesn’t get much better and there’s really nothing like this today.
Thanks to a thorough frame-off restoration, this Jeepster is looking amazing from every angle. Gone is every speck of rust, replaced by smooth Pastel Aqua and fresh chrome, making this vehicle look like the cream puff it is. The rear bumper has Willys Overland stamped in script, while the side steps are chromed for good measure. Correct painted steel wheels with chrome hubcaps which bear the Willys logo on a red field are framed by white wall tires. There’s even a spare tire on the rear, with the same eye-catching combination.
Instead of trying to outshine the exterior, the interior features subtle black upholstery on the front and rear bench seats. Painted to match the body, the dash looks amazing next to the white steering wheel. OE gauges and controls complete the vintage setup.
Finalizing this breathtaking car is the correct drivetrain. A Go Devil 4-cylinder engine has been restored and has a 1-barrel carb. There’s a three-speed manual transmission mated to it with overdrive, making for plenty of driving fun. With the engine and components painted black and the engine compartment painted Pastel Aqua, everything presents incredibly well, making it plain this car will shine at a show.
