Beneath the hood that stretches to the horizon is a magnificent V12 motor — something that Packard actually pioneered in an earlier model. This 473 Ci engine was designed to combat Cadillac’s range of high capacity units, outputting around 175-horsepower. A set of advanced hydraulic brakes ensured owners could bring this big beauty to a stop in a suitable manner.
This Packard 1607 V12 Convertible Coupe has been well maintained by its current owner who has overseen a rebuild of the transmission and carburetor, given attention to the hydraulic brakes, recent valve work and new head gaskets, replaced water jackets, as well as servicing the fuel tank and distributor.
This Packard is said to be very reliable with it previously going on 1600-mile road trips and various tours without issue. High-speed 4:06 gears have even been installed for easier modern highway use.
The highly original car is currently located in Nevada, USA with an asking price of $170,000.
