Own a piece of Ford hot rod history with this beauty.
The Ford Model A was the Ford Motor Company’s second market success after its predecessor, the Model T. It replaced the venerable Model T, which had been manufactured for 18 years. The new model A was a designated 1928 model and available in four standard colors. Produced from 1928 through 1931, the model came in a variety of styles including a Coupe, Convertible Cabriolet, Sedan, Town Car, Wagon, and more! Classic Auto Mall is, therefore, pleased to announce this pristine 1931 Ford Model A Coupe for your consideration as a possible addition to your garage. The current asking price is set at $35,000, and you can make an offer on the car right here.
This example features custom paint, a custom interior, plenty of goodies, and an interesting colored-square motif that speaks volumes. We’ll start at the interior of this beautiful consignment and work our way from there. First things first, a 1932 Ford grille shell is now upfront, and a custom-made reverse hood scoop is right behind. Complementing these mods are custom-made headlight brackets, from which hang '31-style headlights. Hidden hinge suicide doors with electronic door latches open the doors on your command when you press the button. The rear features an electronic trunk lid and an extended rear valance. The consigner states that the roof has been filled courtesy of a Plymouth station wagon.
But aside from the body parts, check out that insane paint job. This Ford Model A Coupe is dressed in Cadillac White Diamond Pearl paint, which is shiny and smooth throughout. The rear and fenders of the car are bathed in Corvette Black Rose, which translates to a really deep purple hue. The multicolored square graphics were airbrushed on prior to the clear coat and provide a beautiful accent on this vehicle. The checkers start at the purple bottom of each side rocker and swoop upward while getting thinner and smaller on their way. Once these squares reach the trunk, they make their way past the roofline, creating a border between the white pearl and Black Rose panels. This paint scheme looks beautiful with those polished chrome five-spoke cast wheels and knockoff style hub caps.
The interior sports grey tweed cloth door panels, which have been embossed with some subtle striping. Billet-style stainless steel handles, locks and hardware are nicely placed on each door. Take note of the Pontiac Fiero seats in grey leather and the panel inset of colored stitched leather squares that tie the look together. There is also a Hurst shifter (T handle) on the floor and nice dark gray cut-pile carpeting. Other features include a simple dash, a GM tilt-style steering wheel and column, added A/C and heat, small headliner console, and a SONY AM/FM/CD player.
This beauty is powered by a 383 cubic-inch Stroker based on a 350 cubic-inch Chevrolet small-block engine. It’s mated to a T5 five-speed manual transmission with a four-barrel carburetor on top. All of this has been squeezed into the restored-to-perfection engine bay that is sure to stun crowds at any car show. A Ford 9-inch with 4.44 gears is on the rear and a tantalizing sound is emitted from behind thanks to a Flowmaster exhaust. Apart from the immaculate condition of the car inside and out, the undercarriage is also impressive. It plays with color some more as it incorporates purple, black and shiny coated bare metal.
This 1931 Ford Model A Coupe is a rare beauty and has been taken to new levels with some serious use of color. It’s also got the power to boot. Don’t miss your opportunity to own this piece of history. Call today!
