The Volvo Amazon 122S was an interesting mid-size car introduced to in the United States in 1959. This car came at the same time when Volvo become the first auto maker to install front seat belts as standard equipment. The notable styling was based on inspiration from 1950s US cars, with a resemblance to the Chrysler 300C and Chrysler New Yorker.
This particular example shows 325,000 miles on it, and was restored with a body-odd, no expensive spared restoration 10 years ago. During this time, it was totally stripped down and the 4-cylinder engine ad 4-speed manual transmission were both completely rebuilt. The suspension was also sorted out, as well and several mechanical components.
NOS interior components were used during the restoration, and the trim was sent out for triple chroming. Most of the glass is also new and it has new interior, carpet, and headliner. There’s only 4000 miles on the restoration, and it’s an excellent example of the model.
