A Toyota Supra and Chevy Corvette Stingray face off in a thrilling drag race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Not everything that happens in Vegas stays there, especially when it comes to high-octane battles like this one. A recent drag race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway pitted two icons of the sports car world—the Toyota GR Supra and the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray—against each other in a straight-line showdown.
The race featured the 2025 Toyota GR Supra, a modern sports car that carries the DNA of its legendary predecessors. Powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six engine, the Supra produces 382 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque. With a 0-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds, it’s a capable contender in the sports car category. Starting at $56,250 for the 3.0 model, the Supra offers performance at a relatively accessible price point.
Its rival for the day, the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, brings a bit more muscle to the table. Equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 engine, the Stingray delivers up to 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque when outfitted with the Z1 Performance Package. This blue-collar supercar hits 0-60 mph in an astonishing 2.5 seconds and tops out at 194 mph. With a starting price of $68,300, it offers supercar-level performance for a fraction of the cost of its European counterparts.
The two cars squared off in a head-to-head drag race, with the Corvette’s raw power and quicker acceleration giving it an apparent edge. While the Supra’s sleek design and agility make it a fan favorite, it couldn’t quite match the Stingray’s blistering speed in this matchup.
Still, the GR Supra remains a tuner’s dream, and modified versions of the car have been known to rival or even surpass the Stingray in performance. For this race, however, the factory-spec Supra met its match in the Corvette.
For fans of both cars, this race highlighted the best of modern sports car engineering—proving once again that, in Vegas, speed and adrenaline always steal the show.
