Jaguar has always been known for producing some of the world’s most eye-catching vehicles. However, where the British automaker really shines is in its hand made special editions to which there have been very few over the years.
As the rightful successor to the legendary E-Type, Jaguar’s F-Type was from the very beginning one of the automaker’s most advanced vehicles up to that point. With an aluminum chassis cleverly holding the engine ahead of the driver and a transmission pushing power to the rear wheels, the F-Type was available with a variety of engines, induction system types, and two different transmissions. The most potent drivetrain used by the F-Type is the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 found in the R variant. Building upon that success, Jaguar launched a special edition model limited to just 250 examples.
The F-Type Project 7 features an all-aluminum bodywork, a 567-horsepower supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine, and an eight-speed paddle-shifted automatic transmission. Other features include an electronic differential, carbon ceramic brakes, and a specially tuned suspension resulting in a track-focused car able to accelerate to 60-mph in just 3.8-seconds.
Just 50 Project 7 cars were allocated for the U.S. market in 2016 and all of them sold almost immediately. This one being offered at Bonhams Auction is a one owner car with less than 750-miles showing on the odometer. Finished in British Racing Green over a Jet Black interior with Ivory stitching, this 2016 Jaguar F-Type Project 7 is truly stunning in its original form.
