Rare 1970 Lamborghini Miura P400 S in Verde Miura Heads to Mecum Auction

A Verde Miura-painted 1970 Lamborghini Miura P400 S, one of only six in this color, is set to cross the auction block.

A rare and stunning 1970 Lamborghini Miura P400 S, finished in the iconic Verde Miura green, is poised to capture attention at Mecum’s Kissimmee 2025 auction on January 18th. With only six units ever produced in this eye-catching shade, this Miura represents one of the most exclusive variants of Lamborghini’s groundbreaking mid-engine masterpiece.

Chassis No. 3685, with matching Engine No. 30491, features a transversely mounted 4.0-liter DOHC V12 engine rated at 370 horsepower. Coupled with a gated five-speed manual transmission, this engineering marvel boasts a top speed of 173 mph. The Miura S introduced a host of refinements over the original Miura, including enhanced intake porting, improved combustion chambers, and luxurious interior upgrades.

The car’s blue leather-trimmed interior contrasts beautifully with the vibrant green exterior. Notable features include a leather-wrapped aluminum steering wheel, Jaeger instrumentation, a gated shifter, and console-mounted switches for added convenience. Chrome window trim, rear louvers, and Campagnolo knock-off wheels fitted with Pirelli Avon tires further elevate its aesthetic appeal.

This particular Miura has a storied history. Restored in 2011 by Bobileff Motorcar, a San Diego-based Lamborghini specialist, it debuted post-restoration at the prestigious Concorso Italiano in Monterey that same year. The odometer reads 52,974 kilometers, and the car is accompanied by its owner’s manual.

Introduced in 1967, the Miura redefined the concept of grand touring with its bold design by Bertone and cutting-edge engineering. With only 762 examples produced from 1967 to 1973, the Miura remains a symbol of Lamborghini’s innovation and vision.

This Verde Miura P400 S is a must-see for collectors and enthusiasts. Its rarity, immaculate restoration, and historical significance make it a standout in the world of classic Italian supercars.
