A vintage 1967 Mack C95FD fire truck is auctioned to support the 493 Firefighter Foundation, aiding firefighters and their families.
A piece of firefighting history is headed to auction, and it’s all for a great cause. This 1967 Mack C95FD fire truck, formerly in service with the Versailles Fire Department in Ohio until 2010, is now being auctioned with proceeds going directly to the 493 Firefighter Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to supporting firefighters and their families.
This iconic fire truck is powered by a robust Mack Thermodyne turbodiesel inline-six engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a dually rear axle. The truck rides on body-colored 20-inch steel wheels fitted with Zeemax 10-series tires and utilizes air-actuated brakes for stopping power.
Finished in striking yellow, the truck features original gold leaf-style Versailles Fire Department graphics. Its equipment includes air horns, articulating spotlights, diamond-plate step panels, a siren, an emergency beacon, and a wood-plank top deck. A 1,000-gpm water pump, pumper control panel, extension ladder, and hard suction lines add to its firefighting capabilities.
The cab is outfitted with red and yellow vinyl seats, including a driver’s seat, a two-place passenger bench, and two rear-facing jump seats, though the jump seats show some tears. The dashboard houses controls for emergency functions, lights, and a siren, along with auxiliary gauges, a master power cutoff switch, and a hand throttle. The odometer reads 25,000 miles, with only 20 miles added by the current owner since its acquisition in 2024.
