Between 2004 and 2007 Aston Martin made about 1,100 V12-powered examples of the desirable Vanquish S model. One of those cars was sold new to Megadeth founder and frontman Dave Mustaine and now that car is heading to auction.
Originally sold by Ferrari-Maserati of Atlanta in Roswell, Georgia, the car is now being offered at auction on Bring a Trailer with a clean Carfax report and a clean Tennessee title. With only 23k-miles showing, this is an awesome chance to get behind the wheel of a rare and well-equipped car. It is finished in silver over a black leather interior and under the hood is a 5.9-liter V12 engine mated to a six-speed automated manual transmission. The silver exterior finish appears to be in good condition and very fitting for this rare Aston Martin. Other features include a larger front grille, a unique front splitter, an aerodynamic trunk lid with an integrated spoiler, and special badging that is unique to the S series Vanquishes. Polished 19-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires overshadow slotted 14.9-inch front and 13.0-inch rear disc brakes.
It is obvious that this car has been well cared for and enjoyed in its life. When talking about his car collection in an interview, Mustaine commented on this car, “I like the fact that I’ve got James Bond‘s car and he doesn’t have my guitars, to be cheeky. But honestly, I think it’s a really sexy car, it’s got a lot of muscle, it’s really sleek, the interior is really comfortable.” The selling dealer replaced the rear sway bars in anticipation of the car’s sale and additional features include HID headlamps, twin exhaust outlets, and fog lights. There has been quite a bit of interest in the car and the current bid is already up to $65k.
