Final-year 280ZX Turbo with under 27,000 miles set to attract enthusiasts at upcoming Broad Arrow auction.
A well-preserved example of Japanese performance history is heading to auction this weekend, as a 1983 Datsun 280ZX Turbo with just 26,910 miles is offered by The Carolina Collection through Broad Arrow Auctions.
Finished in its original Platinum Metallic Clearcoat over a black and gray interior, the 280ZX represents the final evolution of Nissan’s famed Z-car before it transitioned into the 300ZX. With its 2.8-liter turbocharged inline-six engine, the L28ET, producing 180 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque, the 280ZX Turbo was a significant upgrade over its naturally aspirated counterparts. This example features the desirable five-speed manual transmission, adding to its appeal for driving purists.
The car retains many original components, including factory T-Tops, polished 14-inch Datsun alloy wheels, and a clean CARFAX history. Amenities such as power windows, air conditioning, and a factory AM/FM cassette player highlight the shift toward luxury that defined the second-generation Z.
Originally registered in Illinois and most recently residing in Florida since 2022, the car joined The Carolina Collection in 2023. Included in the sale are the original owner’s manual, T-Top storage bags, and a car cover.
