Mack’s B-Series was a revolutionary truck. It brought the industrial trucks of the past into the modern era with its powerful Diesel engines and streamlined design.
With a custom frame off restoration, this 1958 B61 Mack Truck is being offered at the Hot August Nights Auction in Reno, Nevada. It features a Ford F350 chassis and all of the modern amenities that come with it, including air conditioning, a tilt steering wheel, and cruise control.
An on-board air compressor and air-ride seats were also fitted along with a custom interior. Under the hood is a 453 Detroit Turbo Diesel mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. In keeping with its transporter heritage, the engine features a Jake brake and the transmission features a 3-speed auxiliary. Additionally, an auxiliary fuel tank keeps the truck on the road for longer trips. It is fitted with a custom made truck bed that features a gooseneck hitch.
