Ferrari Enthusiasts Flock to Saratoga Automobile Museum's Spectacular Exhibit

It's quite the display.

The Saratoga Automobile Museum in Saratoga Springs, New York, has unveiled a mesmerizing Ferrari exhibit, drawing car enthusiasts from near and far. Known for its rich history and natural mineral springs, Saratoga Springs has long been a destination for tourists. However, the new Ferrari exhibit, titled "Enzo Ferrari: An Obsession With Speed," promises to be the highlight for automotive aficionados. Running through October 27, this exhibit occupies the entire ground floor of the museum, which is situated in a historic plant that once bottled the town's famous mineral water.

This exceptional exhibit delves into the life and legacy of Enzo Ferrari, showcasing a curated collection of rare and iconic Ferraris from around the globe. The museum's presentation offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore the evolution of one of the world's most celebrated automobile brands. Highlights include the blue Daytona Coupe driven by Dan Gurney and Brock Yates in the original Cannonball Run, which still proudly bears their names, as well as a 1997 Ferrari F310B Formula 1 car on loan from the Audrain Museum in Newport, Rhode Island.

The exhibit also features a replica 250 Testarossa, which, though not part of the original 1957-1961 production run, was made in the late 1970s from a Ferrari 250 GTE. This car, owned by the museum, retains the spirit and specifications of the original 250 Testarossa, adding historical depth to the collection. Another standout is the 1966 365 Berlinetta Speciale Prototype, one of only two three-seater Ferraris ever made. Nicknamed Tre Posti for its unique central driving position, this prototype was owned by renowned driver and Ferrari importer Luigi Chinetti.

Additionally, visitors can marvel at the legendary Ferrari F40, celebrated for its advanced composite materials and powerful twin-turbo V8 engine, which produced 471 hp and 426 lb-ft of torque. This car, a successor to the 288 GTO, represents Ferrari's 40th-anniversary celebration and Enzo Ferrari's final masterpiece before his passing.

The exhibit is further enriched with timelines and displays chronicling Enzo Ferrari's life from his birth to his death in 1988, providing a comprehensive look at his extraordinary journey. Located just outside the charming town of Saratoga Springs, the museum is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm, with an entry fee of $20. This Ferrari exhibit is a must-see for anyone passionate about automotive history and the legacy of Enzo Ferrari.
