This highly custom classic Buick is powered by a modern powertrain, and so much more.
There’s something extra special about classic Buicks. The style and size of these old school cars is unmistakable. Rarely are they the subject of the restomod builds, but when they are, magic happens. Such is the case with this 1967 Buick Special Custom Sport Coupe Restomod.
This car was built around a 1967 Buick Revo Chassis from the Roadster Shop and has GS badging - known as "The California GS”. It’s finished in DuPont Premier Two-Tone Paint, Classic Apple/Silver Seashell. It has a custom painted California scene on the custom fiberglass panel under the hood. The body moldings down the side of the car and the bumpers are painted, with laser straight body panels.
Powering the attractive classic Buick is a modern LS based 376 cubic inch V8 engine that makes 525-horsepower. Backing the powerful engine is a 4L70E automatic transmission, with electronic push button start. The transmission funnels power to the rear wheels through a 350 positive traction with 9-inch Ford rearend.
No expense was spared on this $280K build, which rolls on Foose wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich tires. Stopping power comes from four wheel disc brakes, and steering from a power rack and pinion setup.
