The consigner of this 1998 RUF CTR 2 initially sought a high-performance vehicle during a European tour in November 1997. After visiting both Gemballa and RUF, the decision was made to go with RUF due to its manufacturer status and unique VIN sequence beginning with “W09.” The consigner initially considered the famous Yellowbird but ultimately opted for a new CTR 2, specified with numerous high-performance upgrades. These included the uprated 580-horsepower engine, lightweight carbon-kevlar body panels, 4WD system, and advanced carbon brakes. Throughout the production process, the consigner maintained close communication with RUF, ensuring every detail met their exacting standards.
Upon completion, the CTR 2 was delivered in early 1998, featuring a meticulously specified configuration that prioritized acceleration with shorter gear ratios.
