Classic 1967 Maserati Ghibli Spyder Conversion On Bring A Trailer

Beautifully restored 1967 Maserati Ghibli Spyder with 4.7L V8 and five-speed manual, featuring red leather interior.

A rare 1967 Maserati Ghibli Spyder Conversion, originally one of only 779 Ghiblis produced between 1967 and 1972, is now being offered in North Salem, New York. Originally sold as a coupe in Italy, chassis AM115174 was later converted to Spyder specification and has undergone multiple refurbishments over the years, blending its classic design with modern refinements.

This Ghibli is powered by a 4.7-liter Tipo AM115 V8, known for its aluminum block, dual overhead camshafts, and factory-rated 330 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. The engine was rebuilt in 2023 by Vantage Motors in Stamford, Connecticut, and now includes JE forged pistons, new bearings, valves, timing chains, and an overhauled quad Weber carburetor system. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission, which received upgrades, including new universal joints and a replacement clutch slave cylinder.

Finished in a refined blue exterior over a rich red leather interior, the Ghibli’s look is both elegant and timeless. The blue soft top, 15-inch Borrani wire wheels, round-edged pop-up headlight covers, and dual fuel doors highlight its classic appeal. Additional modifications include an EZ-Steer electric power steering system, an ANSA dual-exit exhaust, and servo-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, enhancing the driving experience while maintaining its authentic feel.

Inside, the Spyder boasts refinements such as a Reus Audio stereo with a Pioneer CD player, air conditioning, power windows, and red leather bucket seats. A wood-rimmed EFFPI steering wheel frames the Veglia gauges, which include a 300 km/h speedometer, an 8,000 rpm tachometer, and fuel and oil pressure indicators.

This Maserati includes recent service records, a car cover, and Montana title. Its detailed restoration, classic design by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Carrozzeria Ghia, and impressive mechanical condition make it a coveted piece for collectors seeking a blend of Italian elegance and performance.
