This potent muscle car begs to be driven.
Buick has made a name for itself within American car culture for doing some crazy things with one particular model. That car just so happens to be the Buick Gran Sport, a true muscle car known for its focus on high horsepower fun and high-class styling. This reputation for being one of GM’s best has made the Gran Sport an icon within the community that surrounds the first muscle car movement. In the beginning, the GS essentially the perfect automobile for anyone wanting the power of a Chevelle with a bit more class. However, the GS has since moved out of the shadows of the Chevelle and has entered a completely different class of its own. It is because of cars like this that Buick is known as a maker of some of the world's greatest muscle cars and not just another failed GM brand.
Here to prove that sentiment is a stunning 1969 Buick Gran Sport which boasts a massive 455 ci V8 under the hood which should be good for around 595 horsepower at 6,200 RPM. This is thanks in large part to the Stage Two Prototype “X” Head, aluminum manifolds, and Dual Holley 660 carburetors. That incredible engine is mated to a beautifully designed four-speed Hurst close-ratio manual transmission. Of course, this car has no problem lighting up the back tires.
Over eight long years, the car was fully restored from a good condition classic to a beefy Buick. The exterior is coated in gorgeous black paint which is perfectly complemented by the white leather interior. This interior choice is very popular within the muscle cars community as it throws the driver back to the days of the first muscle car revolution. Another vintage feature of this classic stallion is the set of fat tires on smaller white-lettered wheels. Essentially this is an amazing automobile that combines the classic styling and nostalgia of the first muscle car revolution with the power and performance of the current era.
