Ferrari has been the front line in Italian supercar manufacturing for longer than most of us can remember. Who could forget the incredible racing legend that went from building race cars by hand in a small warehouse to now producing some of the world's greatest modern-day supercars? One such automobile that perfectly represents just how fabulous the success of Ferrari has been is the 2013 Ferrari 458 Spyder.
Featuring a bright red paint job and sharp angular body lines that seem to cut through the air like a warm knife through butter, the Ferrari is very aerodynamic the sound. These designs come from decades of work in the fields of automotive sport and racing. On top of that, the low riding suspension system and sturdy five-spoke wheels make sure that handling is a necessity you will never have too little of. Overall, the body, suspension, and chassis were all crafted specifically to provide a wonderful driving experience to whoever gets behind the wheel. However, these are not the only aspects that make a great race car.
Much of what made Ferrari popular and usable on the racing track was their powertrain engineering department. Within the engine bay of this 458, a 4.5-liter V-8 engine makes good use of its displacement producing 398 ft/lbs of torque and 570 horsepower. The cherry on top has got to be the seven-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission, a great gearbox for anyone looking to push the limits of their car's performance.
