1972 Chevrolet Camaro Restomod Blends LS3 Power with 12-Year Custom Restoration

No-reserve 1972 Camaro restomod features 6.2L LS3, 6-speed manual, and full-frame upgrades after 12-year rotisserie build.

A stunning 1972 Chevrolet Camaro restomod, featuring modern LS power and a painstaking 12-year custom build, is set to cross the auction block without reserve, offering muscle car enthusiasts a rare blend of vintage style and contemporary performance.

Finished in bold Hugger Orange with classic white rally stripes, the Camaro began life as a dark blue rolling shell, acquired in Michigan for $5,000 in 2006. Over the next 12 years, the car underwent a comprehensive rotisserie restoration—culminating in a show-quality build completed in 2018 and offered today from The Burnyzz Collection.

At its heart is a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 crate engine with an aftermarket camshaft, delivering modern horsepower and reliability. Power is routed through a six-speed manual transmission to a GM 10-bolt rear axle with positraction. The powertrain upgrades are complemented by extensive chassis refinements, including Heidt’s four-link rear suspension, adjustable coilovers, tubular front control arms, subframe connectors, heavy-duty sway bars, and Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors.

The Camaro rides on 17-inch Coys five-spoke wheels wrapped in Toyo Proxes tires, offering a planted, aggressive stance and modern handling to match its straight-line performance.

Inside, the car features a custom interior with C6 Corvette leather bucket seats, accented by orange stitching. A Hurst shifter, Dakota Digital gauges, Vintage Air air conditioning, and a Retrosound Bluetooth stereo provide both style and function, while power windows and door locks add convenience.

“The build started from humble beginnings,” said the consignor. “But after 12 years, no bolt was left untouched, and no expense was spared.”

The sale includes a set of keys and a detailed build book documenting the transformation. With its meticulous craftsmanship, enhanced drivability, and classic second-gen Camaro styling, this restomod presents a compelling opportunity for collectors seeking a turn-key American muscle icon.
