Check out this clean A-body.
One of General Motors most successful nameplates was the Chevelle. This is partly due to the monikers overuse in everything from wagons to sedans but when it comes to the muscle car era, what enthusiasts recall most is cars like this 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS with its sporty style and massive hard-hitting engine.
Crown Concepts is an automotive performance shop located in Tucson, Arizona, renowned for building and selling some of the finest cars in the world. They recently added this Willow Green 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS restomod to their inventory where it is listed for sale with a price tag of less than $45,000. Under the hood is a heavily modified 454-cid V8 engine with a set of Merlin ported cylinder heads, a high lift camshaft, and an MSD electronic ignition system. It has also been fitted with a Griffin radiator, Vintage Air A/C, and a 3-inch X-pipe exhaust system. The 5-speed Richmond transmission moves power to the 3.73:1 ratio rear end via a balanced driveshaft and the BF Goodwrench wrapped Cragar Mag Wheels put it to the ground.
With the exception of a Summit Racing tachometer discreetly mounted to the right of the steering column, the interior appears to be in its stock form. A vintage looking stereo tries hard to fool the untrained eye into believing it is not a modern piece with a modern sound. Whether you are looking for a muscle car to add to your collection or one to jump-start it, this 1966 Chevelle would be outstanding and with its restomod upgrades, it would also make an excellent daily driver. After all, Chevrolet made these cars to be driven and adding a few modern advancements to the mix is only going to make that drive better.
