Watch out for this unsuspecting legend.
Mercedes had a bit of a reputation back in the day for stylish performance cars that did absolutely beautifully on the racing track. It makes sense, one of the most valuable automotive brands in the industry would cater to one of the most expensive sports and enthusiasts could dream to compete in. However these days you rarely ever see some highroller pull up and they’re freshly new built Mercedes for a tractor. This particular car is a reckoning back to the good old days when Mercedes still cared about what their cars felt like to drive.
It might not look like much on the outside, but when you get in the car immediately notice some prominent design features. First of all, it’s all very driver oriented, that is to say it caters to the operator. It’s pretty simple, clean cut, and very comfortable, practically the recipe for a perfect grand touring car. On top of that the soft blue exterior is something to really admire and catch his attention from pedestrians as you drive around. All of these things made it an iconic car to see at any performance enthusiast event but there is one thing we haven’t discussed yet.
That of course is the thing that gives the Mercedes 190 SL its name, the engine. Utilizing 1.9 L of displacement, everything from its sound to its power band was made specifically to make the most of every cubic inch. On top of all of that you also get a four-speed manual transmission that some would call a great gearbox for control and comfort. Plus it’s a roadster, so you get to feel the wind on your face as you fly down the road. Overall this car was built to have fun and it would be a crime to not do so behind the wheel. The only question left is, who will be its next driver?
