A rare and extraordinary 1957 International Harvester "Golden Jubilee" Pickup Truck, possibly the finest of its kind, is set to turn heads at auction. With only around 3,000 produced—one for each International dealer in 1957—this truck is already a coveted piece of history. However, the meticulous restoration work carried out by Mr. Young and his son elevates this example to an entirely new level.
No expense was spared during the body-off, nut-and-bolt restoration, with an unlimited budget dedicated to achieving perfection. Every detail has been painstakingly restored, and the truck now stands as a "Magnificent" representation of International Harvester’s engineering legacy. Featuring its original matching numbers Black Diamond 220 engine, a manual transmission, and a 4.09:1 rear axle, this vehicle combines authenticity with a like-new driving experience.
The truck is outfitted with various features that were cutting-edge in 1957, including dual electric horns, dual electric wipers, chrome front and rear bumpers, a cigar lighter, a fresh air heater and defroster, and an inside roof-mounted AM radio. Other standout details include a chrome grille insert, T-1 transmission, chrome gas cap, and dual chrome mirrors, all of which have been lovingly restored to factory specifications.
Extensive documentation accompanies this masterpiece, including restoration paperwork and a Minnesota title with Alabama registration. Sadly, Mr. Young passed away shortly after completing this remarkable restoration, but his passion and dedication live on in this beautifully restored truck.
