These companies have been at war for over a century to gain the title of the worlds fastest automotive manufacturer.
Automotive racing is one of the world's favorite sports due to its fast-paced nature, high stakes, and awesome cars. Many car enthusiasts gather every year to watch races such as the Indianapolis 500, Le Mans, and other iconic races as the cars and their drivers battle in a brutal fight for the first place position. Despite the intense following that this sport has gained throughout its time as an international pass time, most fans probably don't know the incredible history behind some of the world's favorite races. European cars, in particular, were quite influential in the creation of automotive racing as these were some of the first sports cars.

Most agree that racing and motorsport, in general, got their start with hill climb races in the 1920s and 1930s. However, the origins of the modern racing environment go as far back as 1894 when Daimler competed in the 1894 Paris–Rouen. This was considered the world's first automotive race, which set all other European car manufacturers on the warpath to destroy the name that symbolized the pinnacle of speed and performance. One such competitive manufacturer was Bently which instantly began pushing the limits of performance and power. The 24-Hours of Le Mans was the spark that lit a fire under the tails of the Bently engineering team.
While W.O. Bently, the founder of the Bently motor company, was initially skeptical that any automobile could last a total of 24 hours without breaking down or blowing up. Bently went on to be one of the fastest cars in the racing circuit, winning race after race with luxury and style driven by some of the most famous racing drivers in the world. These men were called the Bently Boys, and they were tasked with the mission of continuing the Bently winning streak. These men with grace and brutality easily upheld this mission until the use of superchargers by Mercades, which began taking victory everywhere. This started a great war between these two automotive legends that continues today.
