Candy Apple Red Super Cobra Jet Mustang Mach 1, one of only five built with rare option combo, can be yours.
A striking example of Ford’s golden era of muscle is set to take center stage at an upcoming Broad Arrow auction: a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 Super Cobra Jet, restored to concours-level quality and backed by an exceptional Marti Report pedigree.

Finished in factory-correct Candy Apple Red over Dark Red vinyl interior, this SportsRoof Mach 1 is more than just a head-turner—it’s an ultra-rare performance machine. One of only five examples optioned with an AM radio, disc brakes, and no other extras, the car was purpose-built for straight-line speed and remains in a league of its own.

Powered by the original 428 cubic inch Super Cobra Jet Ram-Air engine paired to a factory close-ratio four-speed manual, this Mustang includes the sought-after Drag Pack 4.30:1 Traction-Lok rear axle. Combined, this drivetrain was engineered to dominate the dragstrip while retaining a refined street presence.

According to the accompanying Deluxe Marti Report, only 90 Mach 1s in 1969 received this SCJ and Drag Pack configuration in Candy Apple Red. Of those, just 17 were optioned with the AM radio, 28 had power disc brakes, and only five—including this car—were built with no additional equipment.
The car was originally sold through Marshall Motor Company in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, and retains its original engine, transmission, and factory paperwork, including four build sheets and the original quality checklist. Expertly restored by Kevin’s Klassic Cars of Minnesota, the Mustang displays just over 42,600 believed-original miles.

Aesthetically, the car presents with all the expected Mach 1 flair: reflective side striping, low-gloss hood, shaker scoop, pin-type hood locks, and wood-grain interior accents. It's a showroom-quality time capsule that remains true to its high-performance roots.

Represented by Broad Arrow Auctions—now a subsidiary of Hagerty—this Mustang is a standout offering for collectors seeking documented rarity, visual impact, and unmatched pedigree. See it here.
