A Hellephant-Powered Masterpiece Reshaping the 1969 Dodge Charger.
The Ringbrothers, renowned for their unique American muscle car restorations, recently unveiled "TUSK," a 1969 Dodge Charger radically transformed with a potent Mopar Hellephant engine, infusing over 1,000 horsepower into the iconic vehicle.
Jim and Mike Ring, the masterminds behind Ringbrothers, meticulously engineered TUSK to merge timeless design with cutting-edge performance. The heart of TUSK is the limited edition Mopar Hellephant engine, a beastly 1,000 horsepower unit, limited to just 100 pieces worldwide. This monumental power is skillfully managed by a six-speed Bowler TREMEC T-56 Magnum manual transmission, coupled with a bespoke carbon-fiber driveshaft, ensuring seamless power delivery to the rear wheels.
The transformation of TUSK extends beyond its heart. Its classic "coke-bottle" body shape is complemented with contemporary updates, including a seamless carbon-fiber front section, a custom hood featuring machined billet scoop grilles, and unique front and rear bumpers. The car's aggressive posture is enhanced by modified and narrowed bumpers, expertly reshaped rear quarter end caps, and a custom-designed underbody panel.
Inside, TUSK is a haven of modern luxury, sporting a custom leather interior, a carbon-fiber console, and the iconic “pistol grip” shifter, a nod to Mopar's rich heritage. The meticulous attention to detail is evident in the Ringbrothers TUSK Edition HRE Wheels, the Fox RS SV coilovers, and the Baer Brakes Extreme 6S six-piston calipers, all contributing to TUSK's impressive stature.
Mike Ring, co-owner of Ringbrothers, remarked, “Performance and design were the driving forces behind this build, showcasing what’s possible when innovation and detailed craftsmanship come together." He added, "With TUSK, we aimed to pay tribute to the second-gen Charger, a symbol of peak American muscle car design and performance. Our partners at HRE Wheels, BASF, Miller Welding, and more have been instrumental throughout this journey.”
While the future of this exact build remains uncertain, Ringbrothers continues to offer a range of custom parts for muscle car enthusiasts eager to create their own unique vehicles. More information can be found on their official website.
