Serial #1 of only 20 built, this 530-hp Diablo SV Monterey Edition is among the rarest and most powerful pop-up headlight Lamborghinis.
A stunning piece of Lamborghini history is set to cross the auction block: the very first 1998 Lamborghini Diablo SV Monterey Edition, one of only 20 examples ever built. Offered with just three private owners and a clean CARFAX® history, this rare supercar represents the pinnacle of Lamborghini’s raw, analog era.

Unveiled during Monterey Car Week in 1998, the Diablo SV Monterey Edition marked the final chapter for Lamborghini’s signature pop-up headlight design. Based on the Super Veloce model but enhanced with factory upgrades, it featured a more potent version of the marque’s 5.7-liter V-12 engine—now producing 530 horsepower, making it the most powerful production Diablo with pop-up headlights ever offered.
This example, VIN ZA9DU21B1WLA12000, is the first Monterey Edition produced. Finished in striking Yellow Metallic with bold SV side graphics, it rides on factory chrome OZ racing wheels and features an aggressive rear wing with a carbon fiber adjustable blade. Inside, the two-tone black and yellow cabin includes "SV Monterey Edition" embroidered sport seats, factory white-faced gauges, and a period-correct Pioneer screen with Bluetooth connectivity.

A March 2025 service ensures it is mechanically fresh, and its rare factory finish is protected with a full PPF wrap. With just over 25,000 km (16,253 miles) on the odometer, the car is offered with its original manuals, tool kit, service documentation, and a branded car cover.
The SV Monterey Edition stands as a tribute to Lamborghini’s untamed 1990s design and engineering ethos, and with its unmatched serial #1 status, this example is likely to command intense interest from collectors seeking the ultimate Diablo. See it here.
